WPA Alumni
In our first year(2024) running the Winter Pitching Academy, we started with an intimate group of just about 15 guys. . . The results were immense↓
*Here are just a few of the many guys who went on to have success*
Brandon Ma, 2025 pitcher of the year
Brandon went on to have a monstrous year in high school including a 17- strikeout no hitter, leading the league in ERA, Strikeouts, wins, and securing league Pitcher of The Year.
Victor Hernandez, 2025 pitcher of the year
Victor's journey began with us at the age of 12, and over the years, his dedication and hard work in our programs have led to significant achievements. His commitment and perseverance have allowed him to excel and attain remarkable success, demonstrating the value of consistent effort and determination.
Connor Donohue, 2025 usa baseball selection
Connor is an exceptional talent, especially for his age. Reaching upwards of 80+ MPH as an 8th grader last winter, got him recognized by one of the biggest stages at USA Baseball, Cary, NC.
Team-oriented environment
Train alongside guys who are pushing towards a common goal, inspiring and motivating one another to press past their limits. This is not just an opinion, but backed by science. Check out one article by the American Osteopathic Association here.
Progress tracking
Track progress with tangible and observable data using latest technology in the industry such as Pocket Radar and PitchLogic.
baseball strength
We partner with certified strength trainers who have experience developing baseball players. Perform unconventional workouts that actually transfer to our sport and movement patterns.
Initial assessment
During the first week, the focus is on evaluating players to establish a baseline for pitch velocity, strength, mobility, stability, and injury risk. This process also involves identifying and highlighting any weaknesses that need addressing.
Health First Approach
We focus on optimizing throwing mechanics and overall baseball strength first, to allow gained velocity to be a natural occurrence, rather than a forced one. Leading to sustainable velocity/longevity.
"Jay Alvarez is a true teacher of the game. He combines his on-field experience as a player with a rare ability to connect with athletes of all ages and skill levels. His passion, high character, and genuine love for developing players make him an incredible asset to the baseball community."-
